Labuan Bajo, Indonesia – February 12, 2025 – Tokyu Land Indonesia, a leading Japanese developer, continues its commitment to environmental conservation with a coral reef restoration initiative in Pempeng Island, Labuan Bajo. This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program aligns with the company’s motto, “We Are Green,” and embodies its guiding principle, “Rooted in Nature, Growing Together.” It also reflects Tokyu Land Indonesia’s mission to create new lifestyles while preserving Indonesia’s climate and culture.
Following the success of last year’s turtle release initiative in Gili Trawangan, this year’s coral planting activity further reinforces Tokyu Land Indonesia’s dedication to marine biodiversity and ecological sustainability. The event, conducted in collaboration with marine conservation experts and local communities, aims to rehabilitate damaged coral reefs, which play a vital role in protecting marine life and maintaining coastal ecosystems.
“At Tokyu Land Indonesia, we believe that sustainable urban development goes beyond buildings—it extends to environmental responsibility and preserving Indonesia’s natural beauty,” said Hidetatsu Ikeda, President Director of Tokyu Land Indonesia. “Through this coral reef planting initiative, we contribute to restoring marine ecosystems, ensuring a healthier future for Indonesia’s coastal environment.”
The event saw active participation from Tokyu Land Indonesia employees and local conservation groups, all working together to plant coral structures in the waters surrounding Pempeng Island. By restoring coral reefs, the initiative supports biodiversity, protects coastal areas, and promotes sustainable tourism in Labuan Bajo, one of Indonesia’s most renowned marine destinations.
