We are actively involved in tree planting initiatives,
hoping to conserve Indonesia’s rich natural environment and biodiversity.

After involving in mangrove planting initiative in last couple years, this year PT. Tokyu Land Indonesia (TLID) continues its effort in maintaining a sustainable life by hardwood tree planting initiative at Citarik, Sukabumi, West Java.

In 2017, TLID enters 5th year from its establishment and aim for more prosperous grow. This year Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Employee Gathering program’s theme, “Together We Grow”, represents the desire that supported by all employees, company’s growth should also promote the growth of its surrounding, and benefits the society as a whole.

The program itself consists of tree planting and a selection of team activities such as rafting, paintball, flying fox, etc. 95 TLID employees participated in this event. Every employee got the firsthand experience to plant the hardwood trees step by step. With the initiative that planted now, TLID expects our children and many generations to come will still be able to enjoy the benefits of the trees.

Why Tree Planting at Citarik?

Citarik River is one of main branches of Citarum River, the largest river in West Java. These rivers support agriculture, water supply, fishery, and  industry for many cities.

The spread of palm plantation in recent decades has caused Citarik riverbank areas to be degraded. Planting trees along the riverbanks aim to restore land quality, prevent erosion, reduce flood risk and conserve water.

The trees chosen are Eucalyptus Deglupta, East Indian Walnut, and Flamboyant. All these trees are known for their ability to grow easily, absorb water and CO2, and long life span. This initiative is expected to give positive contribution in social, economic and environmental aspect to surrounding area, which is in line with TLID mission of protecting climate and culture of Indonesia.
